Great Recipes for Smoothies

Who doesn’t like a nice, rich smoothie? A smoothie is a thick drink made from blended raw fruit or vegetables with other ingredients such as water, ice, dairy products or sweeteners. There are a lot of great recipes for making smoothies, below are some good ones.

1. Heavenly blueberry smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup blueberries, could be frozen or fresh.
  • 1 (8 ounce) container plain yogurt
  • ¾ cup 2% reduced-fat milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Preparation:

Now, how to make the smoothie with the ingredients above? Blend the blueberries, yogurt, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg in a blender until frothy, scraping down the sides of the blender with a spatula frequently. Serve your smoothie immediately and enjoy!

2. Chocolate and blueberry smoothie

This particular smoothie is refreshing and perfect for warm summer days.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 4 ice cubes

Preparation:

Mix the cocoa powder and water together in a small bowl until the cocoa is completely dissolved. Then place the cocoa mixture, milk, blueberries, sugar and ice cubes into a blender. Cover and blend until smooth for about 45 seconds. Serve chilled.

3. Strawberry oatmeal breakfast smoothie

Fast vegan smoothie with a deep pink color, very rich creamy texture. I personally love this one because it is filling and perfect for people in a rush in the morning, perfect and easy to make for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 banana, broken into chunks
  • 14 frozen strawberries
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons white sugar

Preparation:

Combine soy milk, oats, banana and strawberries in a blender. Add vanilla and sugar if desired and then blend until smooth. Your smoothie is ready to be served.

4. Peanut butter banana smoothie

This particular one is very sweet and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas, broken into chunks
  • 2 cups of milk
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey, or to taste
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Preparation:

Put the bananas, milk, peanut butter, honey and ice cubes in a blender and then blend until it is smooth for about 30 seconds. Enjoy your delicious smoothie.
