How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster

On an average, hair grows about half an inch per month and there are no shortcuts for growing long hair. Your general well-being, genetic factors and health affect your hair growth rate. Certain herbs can help boost your hair growth. You can also increase hair growth by maintaining healthy hair through proper hair care and a good diet.

Here are 10 ways to help your hair grow faster.

1. Eat a healthy diet

Go for foods high vitamins A, B, C, and E, iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, and selenium. Vitamin B-complex, to be precise, is extremely important for making your hair grow faster. Eating a diet rich in protein, vital vitamins and minerals is recommended for healthy hair growth. So, eat a variety of foods like chicken, milk, whole grains, avocado, brown bread, oats, etc. Understand that nutritional deficiencies affect your hair adversely, especially deficiencies in vitamin E and zinc can lead to hair thinning and hair loss.

2. Use castor oil

Natural hair growth is promoted by oils that are rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, especially omega-9 fatty acids and castor oil. Mix the castor oil with an equal amount of olive, almond, or coconut oil, as castor oil is quite viscous. Massage it into your scalp and leave it on for 30 to 45 minutes. Shampoo your hair afterwards.

Adding essential oils is also important, especially peppermint, thyme, rosemary, or lavender oil, to the castor oil and then put it on your hair.

3. Massage your scalp

Hair follicles can be stimulated by massages – which also promote the blood flow to the scalp. Also, condition your hair once a week with a deep conditioning hair mask or with hot oil treatment. Follow this procedure for massaging your scalp:

  1. Apply the warm oil or conditioner to your hair.
  2. For three to five minutes, gently rub your fingers on your scalp in a circular motion.
  3. Keep the oil for at least 20 minutes and the conditioner for 2-3 minutes. Then thoroughly rinse out all the conditioner or oil from your hair.

4. Stay stress-free

One of the key causes of hair loss is stress. The normal hair cycle can be disrupted by stress. Stress triggers hair to enter the fall-out phase. Minimizing the stress in your life is the key when striving for faster hair growth.

You can manage stress by doing a breathing exercise, meditating, or any other relaxation technique of your choice. Also, the growth hormone is released during sleep, so make sure you get your beauty sleep regularly.
