Having a good night rest is very important, because it makes you feel very refreshed and relax. A very good amount of sleep is very vital, but there are a number of things that could distort your sleep.
Here are things to abstain from before you go to bed.
1. Sleeping in a brightly lit room
Avoid sleeping in brightly lit areas at least half an hour, before you head to bed. In situations when you are working at night before bed time, try dimming your lights and try turning off any unhealthy fluorescent. This includes the light on your phone and TV. Off white light from a screen, this can suppress melatonin level by 50 percent. This is bad when high of melatonin helps you fall asleep.
Make sure you exercise at least two hours before your bed time. You exercising do not interrupt with your sleep pattern but, it should be best done earlier before bed time and there are some exercises that are good like yoga and stretching.
3. Drinking of coffee and tea
Stop drinking caffeinated drinks when, it’s close to your bed time, if you really want a good night rest. It is very important that you try not to drink caffeine after 2 pm or eight hours before bed time.
4. Watching scary movies
When you engage in horror or violet movies it could prevent you from sleeping. As a result of the movies you tend to be very scared or afraid, which would make you stay awake during the night, which would eventually affect your night rest. Make sure you try not to watch scary movies at night, so that you would peaceful sleep and you do not have to be sacred of anything.
5. Forcing yourself awake
A lot of people try to keep them up late at night, because they might want to read a novel they did not have the time to do during the day. Note that you forcing yourself to stay up at night would increase your cortisol levels and this would at the later run lead to stress.
Also forcing yourself to sleep at night would affect the next day making your day very hectic and unproductive.
