Everyone knows that carbs play a major role in weight gain, but then, what some people don’t know is that there are some carbs which actually aid you in losing weight instead. Losing extra weight is very important in trying to stay fit. Therefore, carbs which aid in losing weight are beneficial to you as you are able get your carbs and lose weight at the same time. Here are some carb foods that aid in weight loss.

1. Barley

This grain food has been a staple food for many people all around the world since ancient times. Studies have shown that eating this fiber-rich grain based food stimulates hormones in the gut and helps to regulate appetite and metabolism. This means that it will keep you full for a long period of time. Therefore, adding barley to your various baked goods is very beneficial as it helps you to lose weight. You can add it to your biscuits, soups, salads etc.

 2. Chickpeas

Pulses belong to the legume family and consist of edible seeds. They come in all sizes and shapes and they grow in pods. These include chickpeas, alfalfa, beans, peas, and lentils. Studies have shown that they prevent overeating and help to keep your weight in check. Chickpeas with 3 table spoons of olive oil and mixed with some spices, when roasted at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes, make for a great and healthy snack. The good thing is that they contain proteins and other nutrients which allows you to have your nutrients whiles consuming less carbs.

3. Pears

It has been proven that adults who eat at least 30 grams of fiber every day lose about 5 pounds in a year. A medium sized pear contains about six grams of fiber, which is more than most fruits, such as apples.

4. Popcorn

Popcorn has a lot of fibers, which is good and it makes for a healthy carb filled snack. A test was done on some volunteers and they claimed to feel more satisfied and energized than they felt whiles eating potato chips.

5. Quinoa

This grain, which is a high carb grain, also has twice the amount of fiber than most other grains and also contains proteins. This means that you can leave saturated steaks to get your amino acids which will help to build your muscles. The more muscles you have, the more calories you burn. Thus, quinoa is a very good carb containing food that can aid you in losing weight.

Note that most carbs that are rich in fiber and aid in weight loss and so they are good for consumption.
