Dealing with Bad Gym Etiquette

Gym etiquette deals with a large aspect of behavior. From putting down the equipment after been used, to no ‘hogging’ one machine, there are some folks who just don’t get it. Fortunately, this article is here to help you face someone who isn’t being thoughtful.

Talk to them

By facing them directly, you become more of a human with a personality. It is much tougher to overlook or feel contempt towards someone who you have spoken to and gotten to know.

If this doesn’t work, specifically discuss their behavior in the gym

Let do it with force or make it an attack. Show respect and be polite, but not remorseful. Make certain they don’t push away themselves from you because of a hostile manner, or because they think you’ll be a dupe. Give a precise example of how their conduct disturbs others.

If this doesn’t work, inform them that you will have no choice but to discuss the matter with the staff

Ignore the person if he or she throws insults on you by telling you that you’re being a ‘sissy’ or related insults. They’re doing that to make you feel ashamed into backing down. Reinforce to yourself that you will not.

Discuss the matter with the staff

Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill, stale it as you see it. Overstatement will actually fail your situation, whereas being practical and objective strengthen your position.

If the gym staffs are unhelpful, talk to the manager, and change gyms

If the staffs are not keen in helping the customers, it’s not at the standard you should demand.
