The kind of food you eat determines your health status, your weight and physique. Food helps you maintain your body, they provide the body with nutrients with which it functions.
Certain food types are capable of giving the boost needed to carry out daily activities. They contain energy needed to fuel the body. Energy giving foods help build the muscle and provide strength. They prevent the breakdown of body tissues and maintain human health. They also help maintain a normal blood sugar level.
When the body is deprived of needed energy for normal daily functions, it breaks down the muscle tissue to generate it. Overeating is not the same as eating energy rich foods, you don’t have to overeat to energize the body.
The energy to power the body is derived from calorie rich foods. Foods with a huge amount of calories provides the body the needed fuel to carry on. Foods containing protein, carbohydrate and fats are capable of energizing the body. Foods rich in vitamins and minerals on the other hand do not directly provide the body with energy but are involved in converting other nutrients present in the body into calorie to give energy.
Carbohydrates are the fastest and quickest energy giving food for the body. They get quickly converted to glucose for energy. It is good to eat energy giving foods before exercising for sustenance during workout.
For a longer-lasting energy source, protein should be consumed. When protein is eaten together with carbohydrate, the rate of absorption is slowed down. Consuming both food classes slows down the rate at which the body absorbs them.
