Your Family Should Have Enough of These Foods

There are certain types of foods that have been classified as very beneficial for your family and particularly good for the development of your children (if any). These foods have been so classified because of the essential nutrients they contain and the role they play in the body. So in this paper, I will show you a few from the list of foods that your family should consume as often as possible.

1. Oatmeal

A bowl of oatmeal in the morning is just a perfect whole grain for a healthy and vigorous day. A daily consumption of oatmeal has been reported to reduce your risk of developing numerous diseases, especially type 2 diabetes in Children. Moreover, the beauty of oatmeal is that it is relevant to both the young and the old. Studies have shown that oatmeal contains a plant called lignans, which has been attributed to prevent cardiovascular diseases in grown-ups.

2. Brown Rice

Brown rice has been reputed to provide “natural wholeness” and is a good source of proteins, fiber and potassium (among other things). Just like oatmeal, brown rice has also been said to lower the risk of developing diabetes – this fact has even been affirmed in a study research by Harvard University in which they unveiled that a daily consumption of 50 grams of brown rice can reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 16%. Apart from this, brown rice has also been reported to supply up to 14% of fiber – which has been to be an essential nutrient that helps to fight off colon and breast cancer.

4. Water

Water is one of the six classes of food that is often given little attention to; but we have been made to understand that 60-70% of human’s body weight is made up of water, this should therefore place water at a higher preference. It is recommended that an average adult consume up to 8 glasses of water per day, as this will help in regulating body temperature as well as transporting nutrients and removing waste products from the body.
