Staying healthy should be everyone’s top priority, mainly because you can never be truly happy until you feel good about your own body. To clarify, you do not need to look like the models on the covers of fashion magazines but your BMI should not place you in the obese or anorexic category either. Fiber is important if you want your digestive system, excretion system and colon to function properly and stay healthy. Ditch the sugary cereal in favor of the fiber or bran based cereal for breakfast and later on choose the brown bread instead of the white bread at lunch and dinner and you will feel your digestion improve dramatically.
Protein is my personal favorite macronutrient as it dense and helps satiate your hunger for longer as it takes longer to break it down for digestion. Protein is also crucial for muscle building and should be consumed in a quantity that equals one gram of protein per 1 kilogram of body weight.
Antioxidants are present in abundance in green tea and berries and they promote a higher metabolism rate within the body. If you plan on losing weight, they are just the thing for you since the increased metabolic rate requires more energy and the body produces this energy by burning the fats stored in the body even when you are not physically active.
Water is necessary for your existence and you should not think that it is replaceable via juices or other liquids. Water helps balance the pH levels in your body that eventually aid digestion, helps regulate the body temperature as well as ensures healthy circulation, excretion and digestive systems.
Exercising can be something as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking a few blocks away so you can walk the extra few meters. This will get your blood flowing and that is all you need on a daily basis really. Try to get involved in sporting activities and you will feel a lot healthier. For those who wish to improve their physique, try cardio based exercise regimens for weight loss and compound exercises for strength training.
If you’re unhealthy there is simply so much that you miss out on a daily basis. By neglecting your health you are putting your own life at risk and this is something that should absolutely never happen. You may be busy but it is necessary that you take time out for your own self.
