No one is really comfortable with belly fat; while others rock their flat bellies at the beach, you are probably standing somewhere and shy of what you have beneath your cloth. There are different types of fats in the body and the most dangerous happens to be the belly fat, also known as the visceral fat. It opens the body to many risks and destabilizes the health. What exactly leads to this? What makes belly fat? Keep reading to know more.
1. Carbonated drinks
You probably do not know how much damage you do to your body with every carbonated drink you take. While drinking carbonated drinks isn’t bad on its own, taking them regularly is very dangerous to your health. One or two cans of soda daily is enough to increase the fats around your waistline, at least five times faster than those who hardly take these drinks. These drinks have high sugar content that increases your craving for food, so you get to eat more than you should. If you really need a drink, you can grab healthy smoothies, fresh fruit juices, a glass of water with lemon zest and mint leaves. Try as much as you can to avoid taking carbonated drinks regularly.
2. Sedentary lifestyle
One of the major things that encourages belly fat is a sedentary lifestyle. Staying physically active does much more than you think; it may seem insignificant, but if you take a closer look, you will observe that there’s a whole lot of difference. It is understandable that you have to go work and sit behind your desk for hours. How about you take a very short break to stretch out? Or decide to walk around your office or the gallery while you’re on a phone-call? Walk often and exercise daily, even if it’s for a short time. Little things like this works effectively, and a sedentary lifestyle doesn’t benefit health-wise.

Dining late at night
The body naturally burns off fat while you sleep at night, which is why sleeping is encouraged, albeit adequate and not excess sleep. However, the body may not be able to carry out this responsibility effectively if you go to bed with a full stomach, which could lead to indigestion and accumulation of fats. It is advisable to take lighter meals at night for the body to effectively burn excess fats.
In addition to all that has been mentioned, avoid fatty foods and feed more on fruits and veggies. Try to dedicate at least 30 minutes to working-out daily. If you can keep up with these consistently, you will observe the result in a matter of time.
