Your face is one of the most sensitive parts of your body and generally, anything that seems to disfigure it, even slightly, can be extremely annoying. The bitter truth is that no matter how protective we want to be of our faces, there are just certain things such as wrinkles that always find a way of cropping up.
You must first understand that the human skin comprises of two layers, the outer layer Epidermis and the inner layer Dermis. Studies have explained that the inner layer consists of proteins and a substance known as Collagen, and wrinkles appear when less of this substance is produced due to old age. However, I will explain to you ways through which the proliferation of wrinkles can be minimized.
1. Keep your body hydrated
Water is very beneficial to the body, especially the skin. Not only does it aid in the digestion process, it also helps in moisturizing the rest of the body. Water plays a significant role in the removal of toxic substances from your face. Apart from natural water, coconut water is also recommended as well as green tea, which has a rich deposit of antioxidants that help put-off the effects of old age.
2. Don’t smoke
It is no news that smoking adds no nutritional benefits to your body and with regards to fighting off wrinkles, smoking damages Collagen – the substance needed to prevent the face from wrinkling; and elastin – the substance necessary for giving the skin its strength and elasticity. As much as possible, not only should you not smoke, but you should try to avoid hanging around people who smoke regularly.
3. Sleep
Sleep is the body’s way of allowing itself some essential time to rest and when this natural process is frustrated, it causes the body to react by producing Cortisol, which breaks down skin cells. On the other hand, with sufficient sleep, your body produces more of HGH (Human growth Hormone) that helps to fight against wrinkles.
4. More of salmon fish
Sea foods are generally rich in proteins, which are a necessity for rebuilding broken skin. However, salmon in particular has a very rich deposit of Omega 3s, which are one of the essential fatty acids needed to nourish the skin and keep it looking youthful.
