Best Indoor Exercises

It is really difficult to go outside, especially for exercise during the winter. It can be cold or rainy and the gym might be closed by the time you get off from work.

Here’s what you could do if you don’t have a home gym to rely on, you could stay healthy and exercise at home on a budget.

Here are a few easy ways to exercise indoors.

1. Stair stepping

Even if you don’t have a set of stairs, this is a great exercise to do in your home. You could even use a study chair. Place it in front of your television and step up and down while listening to your favorite playlist or watching your favorite show. You may not sweat as much as you would have with a jumping rope, but it will still keep your body healthy and active.

2. Jump rope

People often have the assumption that jump ropes are for little girls and boys, they are wrong. People are literally out of breath after about a minute into the jumping rope. This exercise works on your ankles, calves, and arms, it also improves endurance. Try a jump rope, if you want a good cardio workout in a matter of minutes.

3. Dancing

If you get bored with the normal workout, you can start having dance parties. Once a week, pick out different music and just dance to your heart’s content. Dancing is another excellent way to burn the calories. There is no need to look like a pro or impress anyone, if you are in the privacy of your own home. Just make sure you get your heart rate going while having fun.

4. The plank

This is the easiest exercise for you, if you don’t have plenty of time, but you want to build up your core muscles. Get in the push-up position, but instead of doing a push up, hold the position with your arms extended. On your first day, hold the position for 30 seconds and add an additional 10 seconds every day. This is one of the best exercises for your core, but it’s also one of the most challenging one.

5. Cleaning

Most of the days you might be unable to go out for a ride on your bike for the sake of having exercise in the gym. Doing some house cleaning could be the next best thing. Cleaning can be very physical, especially mopping, vacuuming, and lawn mowing. Set up a house cleaning schedule and clean your house, you would just be killing two birds with one stone.
