2 Natural Teeth Whiteners

The color of one’s teeth is as a result of the enamel and dentin. There are certain foods that tend to stain your enamel which would eventually give your teeth a different color. As the enamel breaks down, it tends to reveal the yellow dentin underneath. Hence, there are natural remedies that can be looked at, and they help to whiten your teeth.

Below are the two natural teeth whiteners.

1. Baking soda and lemon juice paste

Baking soda is rich in sodium bicarbonate as it helps to remove stains when scrubbed gently. It is very alkaline in nature. Combined with lemon juice paste, if you have an acidic mouth, baking soda would help to balance out the pH level, which can be useful in breaking down the enamel. This would help to reduce the acidity of the lemon juice which acts as a natural bleach.

This can be done by mixing baking soda and water on some days, and on other days, mixing baking soda with the lemon juice. You would need several teaspoons of baking soda, enough lemon juice or water in order to form a paste and a toothbrush. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your tooth brush and then apply on your teeth. Leave the paste for one minute and then rinse, in order to avoid the acid affecting your enamel. If you are using just water, you can leave it for 3 minutes. This should be done at least once every month.

2. Coconut oil rinse

It is very unique in tooth whitening and helps to whiten the teeth. Coconut oil can get rid of bacteria on your teeth which are the cause of your colored or yellow teeth. This helps to promote gum health and helps to keep your teeth white and also gives you a fresh breath.

This can be done by using a table spoon of coconut oil. Before you brush your teeth, scoop out a tablespoon or less. You can either soften it or just put in your mouth, usually the latter, and let it soften. Push the oil through and around your teeth and leave for 10-15 minutes, spit and rinse with water and then brush your teeth.
