You want to kick off by consuming a healthy diet, but you aren’t sure about how to go about it or you think it may be too expensive. You may have come across those organic health foods with unaffordable price tags. Well, the good news is, it is undeniably possible to consume a healthy diet that costs less than its unwholesome substitutes.
1. Stack up on whole grains in bulk
Oatmeal is one of the best choices to opt for as it is easy to make, you can just microwave for 1-4 minutes and it is quite cheap, e.g. you can purchase a large box for only $1.79 in some supplies, for a fee of just about 15 cents per meal.
Brown rice is also another good choice, but it takes longer to cook, typically an hour.
2. Buy fruits and vegetables and select the least expensive
Fresh cabbage is a great option and most at times costs less than other vegetables.
3. Buy oil in bulk to find the ones with lowest unit price
Olive oil is very wholesome and has a good taste, but it could be costly. Canola oil is another good substitute.
4. Eat protein as an accent
Consume a small serving of protein plump out with a whole grain. A definitive sample is red beans and rice. You could also eat chicken and noodles or maybe a stir-fry served over rice.
