3 Snacks That Don’t Involve Putting On The Pounds

It would be great if we can all eat anything we want without having to worry about calories. But we don’t have it that way and we have to continuously learn how to kill some cravings before they even pop up. But then, we still look out for those foods, probably what we can call “wonder foods” that will be delicious enough to satisfy our cravings and won’t have anything to do with increasing our weight.

While getting these foods may seem impossible, because the things that may satisfy your craving may not be healthy for you, there are some other foods that can replace them. There are some snacks that are rich in fiber and potassium that will help you fill full without adding on any extra fat. These may not be the exact “wonder-foods” you wish for every time, but they could live up to the promise of eating without feeling any guilt later. Below are some of these foods.

1. Popcorn

Popcorn is a delicious low-calorie snack that provides whole grains, fiber and antioxidants. It is a perfect snack for dieting, as the fiber content helps to keep you full, so you don’t get to eat too much of it before you are full. You can stick to air popped-popcorn as it even helps you to stay fuller. Try not to add too much butter while you pop your corn, if you’ll be doing so yourself, to avoid eating a fatty snack. You can also sprinkle some of your favorite herbs or spices on top of your popcorn to add flavor without fat.

2. Yogurt with fruit toppings

Perhaps you crave for something really sweet, but you don’t want to get those cakes with high calories, yogurt may just be the best option for you. Yogurt contains probiotics, which is a gut-friendly bacteria that helps to promote digestion. It is also rich in other nutrients like protein, calcium, vitamin B2 and B12, potassium, and magnesium. You can top your yogurt with fruits like raspberries or strawberries, to add a naturally sweet flavor.

3. Banana with nut butter

This combination is not only delicious, but also rich in nutrients. While bananas are known to contain several essential nutrients that benefit digestion, the health of the heart and weight loss, nut butter has nutritional benefits like phytochemicals that help to protect against heart disease and also some nutrients that benefit the health.

These snacks can be taken anytime, even before bedtime, and you won’t regret it later.
