Red Velvet Cake Fudge Protein Bar

When we are trying to keep fit and want to loose weight, we can still enjoy our treats and snacks with healthy snacks such as protein bars. Protein bars are very good because they can help to make up for the sweet treats, we have to give up when on a fitness program and also serve as a very healthy treat.

They are always rich in proteins so making them very perfect for those that workout because they help to build up worn out tissues in the body. The red velvet cake fudge protein bar is an example of a home made protein bar that can serve as a great treat.

1. Ingredients

  • 128 grams of raw almond butter
  • 80 grams of oat flour
  • 1 tablespoon of natural butter flavor
  • 165 grams of roasted beetroot puree
  • 1/4 tablespoon of salt
  • 135 grams of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 11/2 tablespoon of vanilla creme floured liquid stevia extract
  • 210 grams of chocolate brown rice protein powder
  • Ingredients for Chocolate Coating is 170 gram of bittersweet chocolate

2. Method for roasted beetroot

You will need a 22 x 22 cm brownie pan, scrub and rinse two beets and wrap in a foil then place in the brownie pan. preheat your oven to 180 degrees and bake till a fork can pierce the beets with ease. This may take about 1 and half hours. When the beets are ready, unwrap the foil and let it cool then scrape the back with a knife and chop in chunks, then put in a food processor and mash into a puree

3. Method for the protein bar

In a bowl add the mashed puree, almond butter, stevia extract, butter flavor and almond milk, use an electric stand mixer to mix on a low speed. In a bowl, place your protein powder, salt and oat flour and mix together, pour in the content of your bowl into the bowl of the beet puree and continue mixing on a low speed. mix until your mixture becomes like cookie dough.

When mixed well, put the content of the bowl into your brownies pan and cover with a plastic wrap and flatten it, put in a refrigerator and allow it to stay overnight in the refrigerator.

4. Method for the chocolate coating

Use a large spoon and smear the melted chocolate on the protein bars, when the entire protein bar is smeared with chocolate refrigerate for about 1 hour, at the end of 1 hour the bar should be firm then wrap the chocolate bars with sandwich plastic and refrigerate it.
