Snacks are probably a no-no in your diet, because you will need to stay off unhealthy meals to keep fit. But then, you really don’t have to neglect your taste buds in the name of losing weight, and besides that, there are many healthy snacks that are delicious and will meet your cravings. Here are some of them.
1. Yogurt-dipped strawberries
Yogurts are known to contain probiotics, a gut-friendly bacteria that helps in digestion. They are also a good source of protein and several other nutrients like calcium, vitamin B2, vitamin B12, potassium, and magnesium. Strawberries on the other hand are known to have antioxidant properties that helps to stop fat storage, and many other nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that helps to improve the health.
A combination of these two will not only give you a delicious meal, but also help greatly in weight loss. Dip halved or whole strawberries in your yogurt (preferably, Greek yogurt) and eat when frozen.
2. Chocolate milk
Chocolate milk is a low cost replenishing option that helps to satisfy your cravings and also quench your thirst. It contains fluid and electrolytes that hydrates the body, protein for muscle repair, and carbohydrate to replenish energy stores. The chocolate in this drink also helps to boost the absorption of carbohydrate in the muscles and liver.
3. Chia seed pudding
Chia seeds are on the list of trending meals lately, as they are rich in antioxidants, loaded with fiber, high in protein, contain loads of calcium, and a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. You can get about 11 grams of fiber in just two tablespoons of chia seeds. Combine the seeds with coconut milk, vanilla, and cinnamon; keep in the refrigerator and top with fruit and shredded coconut the following morning, for a delicious treat.
4. Frozen cherries
Cherries contain powerful antioxidants like anthocyanins and cyanidin, and are known as cancer-preventive compounds. They also help to reduce inflammation, support healthy sleep, relief arthritis, reduce belly fat, reduce post-exercise muscle pain, and lower the risk of stroke. Frozen cherries might just be the best means to satisfy your sweet cravings, and because they are frozen, you’ll spend more time in eating them, which won’t make you eat too much of them to avoid added calories.
You really don’t have to let go snacks completely, when you have these amazing options.
